I recently did a painting titled "Jameka" and in my comments I mentioned my 10 year break from art.  For all wondering how this happened I explain it below.  If there are any persons out there like me, who didn't think school mattered take it from me.  When it comes to having your choice of good schools, IT DOES MATTER! I ended up frustrated and taking a 10 year break because I was a JACKASS in high school, and even though my portfolio got me was accepted to an great art school (one of the best in my area), my grades were to low for anyone to take a chance on me financially (and we all know how much a good art program cost). You know it's amazing that no matter how long you've been drawing you can always find processes and ways to improve. Lately, I'v been sketching with  brush pens and medium tip markers.  Which has been a great confidence builder.  Sketching with a marker makes you be intentional about the lines you put down.  I mean, you can't do alot of scribbling with a marker unless you like looking for lines that have bled together.  Now it's nothing wrong with scribbling, but if you are like me, short on attention span and impatient, you may want to consider this marker thing.
